The Element Of Work

Why do some people succeed at maintaining weight loss, or making healthy lifestyle changes permanently?

They accept that there will always be effort required. They never stop working at it, even after they reach their goals.

This is why it’s so critical to ask yourself – is what you’re doing to achieve change sustainable? Can you see yourself doing it, or a version of it, in 3, 5, & 10 years?

Details might change, like how much you train, if you track macronutrients, and even what the initial goals were. But the effort is constant. There are mechanisms in place to self monitor and maintain the success.

Using an approach that focuses on habits might be key. After all, it’s your habits that matter in the long term. Programs that make a huge dent but offer nothing in the way of education for “what happens next”- are destined to fail.

Healthy habits change how we behave. We become people who care about sleep, stress, getting our workouts in, spending time with family, eating whole foods and managing screen time. We work at managing these aspects of our lives to be as healthy and happy as possible.

As you prepare to start each day, each week and each month, embrace the work ahead. Lean into it knowing that you’re in the drivers seat and you’re willing and ready to make the effort to take care of yourself! You GET to do this
